From the ephemeral cloud to indelible solid-state storage, AI pipelines to metadata-driven orchestration, DATAKAMER explores how we shape, store, and share the knowledge powering data discovery, policy, and innovation.

This is a meeting of minds — not your typical tech conference — a collective creative, from-first-principles problem-solving discussion of infrastructure aspirations across the data continuum.

Dive deep into unique problem spaces and share paradigm shattering solutions across an intimate and focussed day of presentations, panels, live demos, and unexpected encounters. DATAKAMER is your opportunity as a visionary in the data management space to challenge the boundaries between infrastructure and imagination. Join us at the intersection of high-performance computing, human connection, and bare metal.

( DATA-what? )

DATAKAMER is inspired by the Enlightenment tradition of the kunstkammer – marvellous wonder rooms – mind-bending collections of art, instruments, exotic plants and animals, archaeological finds and curios. These wondrous gatherings, comprising the frontiers of art and science, stimulated trade and prompted speculation and experiment. Driven by curiosity, collectors met to discuss their finds and develop new technologies, producing knowledge that was both creative and profound.

Like these wonder rooms, DATAKAMER is a concept as well as a physical space. The symposium format invites technical and creative minds to meld, experiment and reflect, not just on systems and infrastructures, but who we are and where we might go next. Let your curiosity lead you into the DATAKAMER to power innovation, as together we engage with a kaleidoscope of compelling questions.

( DATA-who? )

DATAKAMER is a not-for-profit collective of thinkers and technological tinkerers. Our coalescence spaces are supported by industry sponsors with the vision to invest in the future today. We invite those with an intrinsic desire to look beyond the immediate event horizon, delve into the how of a different trajectory, and co-create the new pathways of our data future to join these discussions.

( DATA-where? )

From our inaugural symposium at Harvard’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in 2025, we are reaching out globally to create connections on future thought leadership across Australasia, North America, Europe and beyond.

( DATA-why? )

Data underpins every human endeavour and it's growing exponentially. Managing data at scale, securely, robustly, intelligently, and sustainably into an uncertain future requires rethinking standard approaches. Lessons learned from libraries lost and records maliciously altered lead us into an era of endeavouring to retain everything – forever.

DATAKAMER is an opportunity to stretch beyond the small, staid, incremental iterations of “what we’ve always done 2.1…” in the good company of others with the insight, intuition, knowledge and skills to craft new paradigms.
