Code of Conduct

Overview

DATAKAMER is committed to fostering a professional, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants. Convening leading thinkers in data management, the event relies on shared norms of scholarly integrity, collegial conduct, and mutual respect. 

By participating in DATAKAMER, all attendees agree to uphold the standards outlined below. 

Expected Behaviour

Participants are expected to: 

  • Engage respectfully, especially in disagreement 

  • Welcome diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and approaches 

  • Use inclusive, precise, and non-disparaging language 

  • Offer and receive critique constructively and professionally 

  • Prioritise the well-being, dignity, and intellectual agency of others 

Unacceptable Behaviour

The following are not permitted at DATAKAMER, in person or online: 

  • Harassment, intimidation, or personal attacks 

  • Discrimination or exclusion based on identity, background, or belief 

  • Dismissive or belittling behaviour toward any participant 

  • Sustained disruption of talks or discussions 

  • Non-consensual recording, photography, or content distribution 

  • Retaliation against anyone reporting a concern in good faith 

Reporting and Response

Violations of this Code may be reported in person or confidentially via the form below.


The organising committee will review all reports and take appropriate, proportionate action. This may include warnings, removal from the event, or escalation to an affiliated institution.

This Code exists not to constrain participation, but to safeguard it. We appreciate your contribution to a research culture marked by rigour, openness, and respect.
