Data Stewardship
Preserving knowledge into the future
What to expect
Composing multidimensional data management spaces to foster new interdisciplinary collaborations and inspire thinking beyond the next incremental step, DATAKAMER is a space to deeply explore unconventional data solutions.
To achieve these ends, we gather inspired research data futures thinkers to engage in high-trust, knowledge-rich discussions centred around:
Sustainable century-scale data curation, preservation, access, meaning making, and reuse
Economic, technological, and human capacity building for exa-scale research data management
Tools for the long tails, interdisciplinary discovery and acceleration, and data management maturity across all research fields
Harmonising management instruments for researchers, technical officers, and data librarians – propelling RDM forward as an integrated institutional service
Making data AI-ready whilst safeguarding data sovereignty, custodianship, provenance, and sensitive information – thinking beyond infrastructure
Building cyber resilience for the event horizon
Data proliferation from every human activity and interaction indelibly underscores our reality. Research institutions face substantial interrelated and often conflicting data management challenges, which become ever more complex as data volumes and demands scale, cyber-threats mount, and the necessity to make AI benefits outstrip the risks crescendos. Single-pronged responses are insufficient to slice through this juggernaut demanding collaborative, cross-domain dialogue to conceive, fund and implement scalable solutions.
We invite scholars, innovators and RDM leaders to engage in deep problem-solving discussions focussed on combining solid technical capabilities and creative, blue-sky strategies and implementation roadmaps. DATAKAMER facilitates cross-pollination between a diverse network from:
National and large-scale research data infrastructure stakeholders
Health, biomedical, geospatial, and higher education research institutes
Digital infrastructure policy makers and peak bodies
Industry infrastructure sponsors
